Connected to your computer and combined with a projector, the Rear Projection SMART Board interactive whiteboard allows you to simply touch the screen to access computer-based materials. You can pick up a pen to write notes or annotate over top of applications and work naturally at the board without casting a shadow. The Rear Projection SMART Board interactive whiteboard turns any computer into a powerful presentation and collaboration tool.
The Rear Projection SMART Board 2000i utilizes DViT™ technology to render pen stokes and finger touches into mouse clicks and electronic ink. DViT technology requires no active, layered screen because the digital cameras are in a product’s corners, not in the surface. It’s ideal for rear-projection and plasma systems that demand high-quality, clear images. The Rear Projection SMART Board 3000i, and 2000i and SMART Board for Plasma Displays interactive whiteboards feature DViT technology.
Optical sensors automatically detect when a stylus or the eraser is selected, while buttons activate the on-screen keyboard and right-mouse click. LEDs indicate the active tool. Four Whisper-tip styluses and an eraser are included, but you don't need special tools to work on this natural whiteboard interface. You can also begin the orientation procedure for your SMART Board interactive whiteboard quickly and easily while at the board itself by holding down the Keyboard and Right-Mouse buttons simultaneously.
Including the SMART Board driver and SMART Notebook software, this award-winning software is available for multiple operating systems and in multiple languages. The SMART Board driver activates the SMART Board interactive whiteboard so that you can use your finger as a mouse or annotate over applications. SMART Notebook software saves notes written on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and includes many other capturing and editing features. In addition an NEC MT1060 XGA can be included with the 2000i package.

SMART Board 2000i FAQ
How is the Rear Projection SMART Board 2000i interactive whiteboard different from other rear-projection systems?
The 2000i gives you the shadow-free, clear image of standard rear-projection systems and adds interactivity. Powered by an innovative touch system and SMART Board software, the 2000i lets you touch the screen to control computer applications, navigate Web sites, write notes and save your work.
The 2000i has a height-adjustment range of 14" (35.5 cm). The top of the screen adjusts from a height of 69" (175.3 cm) to a maximum height of 83" (210.8 cm) to suit the needs of different users.
The 2000i also has a unique design suited for smaller spaces. The projector lens requires a short throw distance, so the slim, tapered cabinet is only 28 7/8" (72.9 cm) deep and fits easily through standard doorways and into corners.
What makes the 2000i touch sensitive?
SMART’s DViT technology makes the screen touch sensitive. Digital cameras track contact with the surface, and sophisticated software translates this information to the computer as mouse clicks or electronic ink.
What are the advantages of DViT technology?
DViT technology delivers precise touch input, intuitive use and a high-quality image. The digital cameras and processors reside in the screen’s frame, or bezel. Unlike other touch systems, the technology requires neither special layers in the screen nor special pen tools.
Consequently, you have a clear, bright rear-projection image, as well as the trademark interactive whiteboard advantages you expect from SMART. You can use your finger or any other pointing device to touch the surface, and you have both a durable system and accurate touch control.
