Meiji Techno is one of the largest Japanese microscope manufacturers. The company can trace its roots back more than 50 years to 1964 when it was founded under the name Azuma Optics. Azuma established a strong reputation for quality. By 1975 when the company name changed to Meiji Techno and sales were opened up directly to the public, this reputation allowed the company to grow rapidly.
Today Meiji Techno manufactures microscopes for industrial, laboratory, and higher education markets. These products are distributed across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas by a network of more than 240 experienced dealers. The company's US subsidiary was established in 1986 and is currently headquartered in San Jose, California.
