Fluke Borescopes

A boroscope is an inspection device, specially designed for hard to reach places.  Boroscopes enable non-destructive inspection of tight and enclosed areas, which would not be accessible under normal circumstances.
BR250
 Applications include:
  • Residential, facilities and building inspection
  • Machinery inspection
  • Metallurgical inspection
  • Military and law enforcement
  • Medical examination

In choosing a boroscope, there are several factors to consider.  Boroscopes are used in many different industries, and as a result, are available in a large number of configurations.

Shaft length and shaft diameter refer to the physical size of the probe and camera head.  Probes are available in many lengths, therefore, it is imperative to know how far you will be from your inspection point.  Shaft diameter is the horizontal width of the probe.  If you intend to inspect very tight spaces, this measurement is critical.  If your probe diameter is larger than the space it will inspect, it will not fit.

Many boroscopes feature articulating camera heads.  What does this mean?  An articulating camera head is motorized and has the ability to move.  For example, if you were conducting a plumbing inspection and the probe was 15 feet into a pipe, the camera head would have the ability to look left, right, up and down.

Other important factors to consider:
  • Field of view
  • Wireless connectivity
  • Probe upgradability
